Growing Tennessee Christmas Traditions Since 1971

Since 1971, our association has helped connect growers, strengthen family farms, and preserve the choose-and-cut Christmas tree tradition for future generations.

Today, TCTGA includes farms and nurseries ranging from small family-operated choose-and-cut farms to large wholesale operations with thousands of acres in production. Our members are located across East, Middle, and West Tennessee, representing the diverse climates and tree varieties found throughout the state.

Our Mission

The mission of the Tennessee Christmas Tree Growers Association is to support successful and profitable Christmas tree farm operations while promoting the value of real Christmas trees grown in Tennessee.

We provide educational opportunities, networking, field days, farm visits, and industry resources that help both new and experienced growers improve their planting, care, and marketing practices.

Our members grow a wide range of Christmas tree varieties including:

  • Fraser Fir
  • White Pine
  • Virginia Pine
  • Leyland Cypress
  • Norway Spruce
  • Blue Spruce

Association meetings are held throughout the year and often include guest speakers, educational workshops, and farm tours. Meetings are open to the public, and anyone interested in Christmas tree farming is welcome to attend.

Our History

The Tennessee Christmas Tree Growers Association was officially organized as a nonprofit organization on September 11, 1971.

In its early years, the association worked closely with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture and the Division of Forestry to improve seed stock quality and support Christmas tree production across the state. TCTGA also assisted in the publication of a Christmas Tree Growers Manual released by the Tennessee Division of Forestry in the early 1980s.

More than 50 years later, the association continues to support growers through education, collaboration, and statewide promotion of Tennessee-grown Christmas trees.
